Stop Binning Receipts You Could Be In For A Shopprize

I’m always on the look out for mobile apps that help to maximise my pennies, and I’ve been using Shopprize for a few weeks now.

If you are throwing away your receipts or leaving them at the till, you could be turning them into prizes by simply taking a picture of them and uploading them to the app.

It takes a couple of seconds of your time, and if you combine using it with other receipt apps such as Receipt Hog, over the course of the year you could make a decent bit of extra cash for something that usually finds its way into the bin.

What is Shopprize?

If you haven’t heard of Shopprize, it’s a mobile phone app where you snap your receipts and upload them to the app in return for the chance to win prizes.

When you upload a receipt you are awarded coins, you can then use those coins to enter different daily sweepstakes, or save 10,000 coins to swap them for an instant win item – I’ve got 5,000 already to give you an idea of how easy they build up!

The prizes vary from gadgets, health and beauty items and Amazon vouchers to name just a few.

There are daily sweepstakes taking place with each one costing a different amount of coins to enter, you can enter as many time as you want, providing you have enough coins to do so.

There are also coins to be earned just for simply opening the app daily, with varying amounts awarded, as well as coins available to collect if you recommend your friends.

As of yet, it is only available for Android users.

What receipts can I use?

Any, but they must show the items you have bought.

For example, a debit card receipt showing the transaction cannot be used, you need the full receipt showing the date and the cost of your shopping.

Make sure the image isn’t blurry so it can be detected properly by the Shopprize app or it won’t count.

You are only permitted to upload a receipt once, with no more than five uploaded in one day, and they must be from within the last three days too.

Why are they offering freebies for receipts?

Market research data, plain and simple.

It is used for research purposes only and Shopprize will never use your personal information to advertise, promote or market goods directly to you and their clients are not allowed to contact you in any way.

Final word

I love freebies wherever I can find them so apps like this are right up my street.

At the end of the day it really does take a few seconds to complete the process and I tend to do it when I get home from work with shopping for dinner.

I determined to get a few Christmas presents out of apps like these over the course of the year, and you could easily do it too!

    1. No problem! Great way to make a little extra cash or win prizes for something you would have binned anyway!

    1. I’ve managed to bank 5000 coins in a matter of weeks. I’m going to swap them for prizes and give them as presents for Christmas!
