OK, let's be frank on this lasagne recipe, it's only thrifty if you shop smart picking up reduced items - stealing a glass of red wine from your partner's bottle helps to keep the cost down too! However, if you are too strapped for cash to take yourself to an Italian restaurant, this could be considered a thrifty way to treat yourself by bringing the restaurant into your own home. And, using this technique you don't have to be a chef to pull off a mega tasty dish.

This is how I made Mediterranean sausage casserole using the Pressure King Pro, it took about 30 minutes, is cheap and Slimming World friendly!

Pressure King Pro Mediterranean Sausage Casserole: Slimming World Friendly

Mediterranean sausage casserole was not what I was expecting to be cooking last night, but I had spied a reduced packet of pork sausages in Sainsburys and fancied a bit of a change. Plus, I had a guest round at mine who I’m always banging onto about cooking tasty meals for next to naff all, so this presented the perfect…

Debt can be all consuming if left to get out of control. But, how can you tell if your debts have become a problem that you need help with?

How Do You Know You Have Debt Problems?

Do you know what debt is? Sounds like a silly question right? But, you’d be surprised how many of us don’t understand the meaning of it enough to recognise whether it has become a problem. A simple definition of debt  is a sum of money that is owed or due, a financial obligation that you are bound to pay back….

I was honoured to be asked to appear as a guest thrifty, money saver on BBC 1's Right on the Money with Denise and Dom. Here's what we discussed!

My Guest Appearance On BBC’s Right On The Money

After strutting out of my previous job back in April, my second day in the world of self-employment was spent appearing as a thrifty, money saving ninja on BBC’s Right On The Money. If you’ve never tuned into the show before, it’s a programme on BBC 1 presented by Dom Littlewood and one of my all time sporting heroes Denise…

Would you risk pissing someone off to prevent them from committing financial suicide?

Would You Be Willing To Upset A Friend To Stop Them Committing Financial Suicide?

As a money blogger and a former employee of the debt industry, I’m in a fair few money related Facebook groups. If someone has a financial related query I’m happy to offer the best advice I can, if I don’t know the answer I’ll keep schtum and try and point them in the right direction for the correct advice. Facebook…

Regular readers know what a complete and utter tightwad I am, so this pork loin dish was perfect. Paying full price for anything brings me out in cold sweats and a rash - especially where food is concerned. I can be found stalking my local Sainsburys and Co-Op daily. They are an absolute treasure trove of reduced goodies and bargain basement deals, so much so I'm fairly sure they must make a loss on it - bothered loads. Anyhoo, last night was a real CBA affair when it came to cooking dinner. I was knackered from being in the cafe all day and taking on quite a lot of freelance work which I'm doing around busy periods, so my enthusiasm levels for cooking were running on fumes by the time I got home. This is where stockpiling your freezer pays off, not just in a time sense, but a money sense too. I messaged PK and told him to take out the pork loin I had in the freezer as I knew there were a few spare bits in the fridge that needed using too.

You’re probably a member of a Facebook buy, sell and swap group or page, if not, I’m sure you’ll have heard of them. They are something I always keep an eye on, whether I particularly need something or not, just in case there is a chance to grab a bargain to flip sell it and make a bit of profit. However, since moving into my apartment last November I’ve been on the lookout for bedroom furniture and a dining table. I missed out on an amazing table a few months ago because Sidney the Sony decided to switch himself off and I missed the guys message - a trait that old Sid is doing more and more. It was beautiful and since seeing it nothing has quite floated my boat in the same way, meaning I’ve been holding out. I’ve been living with temporary bedroom furniture and eating off my knee for eight months and it has taken me to the brink of insanity, thankfully the furniture Gods smiled down on me this week and I’ll tell you how
